Raffles Design International, are organizing the Fashion Show ‘Couture for a Cause

The students of Raffles Design International, are organizing the event ‘Couture for a Cause,’ creating a platform for designers to showcase their collection. The show will be aimed at supporting the social cause of helping children with special needs and funds will be raised to donate to LITTLE ANGELS School, an NGO for children with learning disabilities (ADD, ADHD, autism etc.) As a part of the students’ Fashion Marketing and Management Degree, they came up with the idea of giving back to society by organizing a fashion show, which will be a unique blend of high fashion, glamour and philanthropy. The show will be held on Tuesday, 13th March, 2012, from 7 p.m. onwards, at ITC Maratha, Mumbai.

LITTLE ANGELS SCHOOL is a non-profit organization. The Founder and Director, Mr. Jahangir Afshari, opened the school in 2002 with just 3 teachers and 12 students, with a vision to provide holistic development opportunities to all children with special needs, envisioning a society with total acceptance of special needs, where equal opportunities exist for all people. This NGO was chosen for the event because it genuinely believes that every child is special and unique and should be treated normally. There is value in allowing children to learn, even if the task is not accomplished as quickly, efficiently or effectively.
